LGMA: Front-facing website for Ireland's Local Government Organisation
When the deadline imposed on a project is set in stone - in this case the stone being government legislation - then you have to move fast. The LGMA came about as a merger of two organisations, so there was an opportunity to look at the content built into each organisation's website, and see what was suitable and useful for the new, single website.
We worked with the team in the LGMA to decide on the functionality required for the site. We then created sitemaps and wireframes to map out where each functional item would be placed on the webpage to add maximum to the user experience. When the sitemaps and wireframes were in place, we created a design that reflected the new organisation, its aims and objectives.
Even though the timeframe was tight, we were still able to create and implement a fully responsive design that worked beautifully across multiple devices.
Once the dust settles on the merger, it is planned re-visit the website design and build with a view to updating the site, taking a deeper look at the services delivered and how best they can be accessed via the website.
The Local Government Management Agency has contracted Annertech on a number of occasions to carry out work for us, notably the initial build of LGMA.ie and localgov.ie and each subsequent phase of the website. We have always found that Annertech’s work was carried out to the highest of standards, with great care put into timings, costs, and deliverables. We're delighted to have chosen to work with Annertech. We're leading the way with open source development across local authorities in Ireland, and it's important to have a partner who is as tightly integrated to the Drupal world as Annertech is. LGMA look forward to continuing our relationship with Annertech.
