Join Annertech at LocalGovCamp North for our LocalGov Drupal workshop
Annertech is delighted to announce that we will be presenting a workshop at LocalGovCamp North in Leeds on Thursday 13 November 2025. The event is a key gathering for local authority leaders and digital practitioners across the North of England focused on shaping the future of public service digital transformation.
Our session, titled “How LocalGov Drupal solves real problems now and rises to meet new challenges and requirements”, will be presented by Annertech’s Director of Managed Services Anthony Lindsay and Frontend Developer Tony Barker.
Anthony and Tony will provide deep, practical insights into how the LocalGov Drupal distribution offers a proven, rapid, and efficient open-source solution for councils looking to adapt quickly while maintaining service quality and supporting a citizen-centred approach.
What is LocalGovCamp North?
LocalGovCamp North is a one-day in-person event dedicated to digital transformation in local government. It’s an essential gathering for council leaders, digital practitioners, and technology partners to share practical insights and collaboratively design a stronger digital future for public services.
The day features keynote presentations from pioneering councils, hands-on workshops, and unconference sessions where the attendees set the agenda to explore the most pressing issues.
Topics range from the ethical deployment of AI and automation to data sharing, avoiding vendor lock-in, and closing the digital divide. It's a fantastic blend of structured inspiration and open collaboration, aimed at tackling real challenges around data, automation, and digital platforms.
Our workshop: LocalGov Drupal solves real problems, now and for the future
Our session will provide deep, practical insights into how the LocalGov Drupal distribution is a proven, rapid and efficient solution for councils looking to adapt and maintain high service quality.
"LocalGov Drupal is not just a theme or a set of modules, it’s a community-driven platform that councils can trust to deliver excellent citizen experiences," says Anthony Lindsay.
"In our session, we'll demonstrate how it can impact a council’s entire digital estate, offering solutions for everything from rapid site launches to complex user management."
Tony and Anthony will cover several key topics, including:
- The potential impact of Local Government Reorganisation on digital estates
- How to launch a high quality digital property in under a week with LocalGov Microsites
- How the theming supports new design requirements using Government Digital Service (GDS) design patterns
- How LocalGov Drupal patterns signpost citizens to the information and tasks they need in an accessible format
- How LocalGov Drupal and Drupal are primed for advanced data migrations
- Solutions for user management with SSO and Active Directories
- The path ahead, including future search and AI features
"We're going to show that LocalGov Drupal is built to last and to evolve," adds Tony, who is also the lead developer on the LocalGov Drupal project.
"We’ll look at the technical architecture that makes it ready for things like AI integration and how the community approach safeguards councils from becoming dependent on a single vendor. It's truly citizen-centred design powered by open-source collaboration."
