We’re ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified!

We are incredibly excited to share that Annertech has successfully achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.

We have always been committed to delivering high-quality digital solutions and operating as a responsible, forward-thinking agency, and these certifications provide a rigorous framework that ensures we stay at the top of our game operationally while looking after the planet.

Auditing our DNA

“We have always had exceptionally high standards, but ISO certification allows us to prove it through a globally recognised framework,” says Head of Operations, Dermot Frost, who spearheaded the certification process.

“Leading this process has been an eye-opener. It is not just about ticking boxes; it is about examining our DNA to ensure that as we grow, our efficiency and our commitment to the environment remain world-class. It is a rigorous journey, but one that ultimately makes us a better partner for our clients.”

What do these certifications actually mean?

• ISO 9001 (quality management): This is the gold standard for quality management systems. It ensures that an organisation has the structures in place to consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. For our clients, it is an independent guarantee of consistency, reliability and continuous improvement.
• ISO 14001 (environmental management): This standard provides a framework to design and implement an environmental management system. It helps us actively measure and reduce our environmental footprint.

“The ISO standards themselves have a lot of clauses in common around how the company defines itself, engages with stakeholders, carries out audits, has buy-in from senior management, and continuously improves processes and procedures. That overlap is what allows us to achieve both certifications at the same time without duplicating effort doing them separately,” explains Dermot.

Why this matters (especially for a distributed team)

Pursuing these certifications was a natural next step in Annertech’s evolution. We want to prove to ourselves and our clients that a fully remote, international distributed model does not just work, it excels.

Achieving ISO 9001 means our internal processes – from the initial sales pathways and project scoping to Drupal development and long-term managed services – are fully documented, highly efficient and geared toward client success. It gives public sector, local government and non-profit clients complete peace of mind that they are working with a highly professional outfit operating to international best practice.

On the sustainability front, ISO 14001 helps us lead the way in green digital practices. 

“Even without a physical headquarters building, remote work carries an environmental footprint,” says Dermot.

“We encourage good environmental practices, which include paperless working, public transport where possible, online meetings rather than flights to meet clients, hosting client sites in low carbon data centres. 

“And our responsibilities extend to building highly optimised, energy-efficient Drupal websites that perform beautifully with a lower carbon impact.”

Building on a foundation of security

This milestone builds directly on top of our existing ISO 27001 certification for information security management.

“The rigorous structure required for ISO 27001 paved the way for these new certifications,” Dermot explains. 

“While each standard focuses on a different theme – security, quality or sustainability – they share commonalities. By building on our experiences with ISO 27001, we are ensuring that operational excellence is baked into every layer of the Annertech operation.”
