Our history

From humble beginnings in 2008, Annertech has grown to become the most innovative open-source digital agency in Ireland.

We are widely considered to be the "go to" Drupal experts nationally and a number of our staff are internationally recognised contributors to the core Drupal platform.

Today, Annertech – one of very few woman-led digital agencies – has an expansive client base. It employs approximately 40 staff members across the EU and the UK, into where it expanded in 2021, and continues to grow.
 

Beginnings

Our story began when Stella Power recognised the need for an agency that would meet the requirements of the Non-Profit and Charity sectors in the most accessible and client-focused manner.

She started Annertech in 2008, after inspiration struck at her first DrupalCon in Szeged, Hungary. She returned to Dublin, and founded Annertech, naming it after the River Anner, which flows through the Power family's farm in County Tipperary, where she grew up.

Swimming upstream

Having become synonymous with digital success in the area of non-profit organisations, we then expanded our focus to other verticals, most notably public sector bodies and higher education, followed by the corporate sector.

We are now proud to be working with the largest public sector bodies, local authorities and universities in Ireland as well as on digital transformation projects for a multitude of corporate clients, from SMEs to multinationals. 

Our creative and professional approach, together with our use of open-source technologies, have led to Annertech becoming a multi-award-winning team and a thought leader when it comes to open-source software development. We are proud to advocate for the use of open-source software and have adopted this philosophy of sharing our knowledge, both within Annertech and externally. You will often find Annerechies sharing our knowledge and expertise at international conferences, and we welcome collaborations with other agencies and organisations.
