Our social values
We believe that great digital work should also contribute positively to society. Our social values guide how we operate, how we build technology and how we interact with our world. From advocating for open-source technology to minimising our environmental footprint, here is how we strive to contribute to the betterment of our community and the digital sector.
Our people
We’ve been working from home since 2008, long before Covid-19 made it the norm. Because we aren't tied to a physical office, we’ve been able to build a brilliant team that hails from across Europe (and beyond). We’re proud of this diversity and the wealth of perspectives it brings. Our flat structure ensures those ideas actually go somewhere, making sure everyone is heard and every opinion is respected.
Testament to this is that Annertech was named as one of Ireland’s Best Places to Work in 2024.
We pride ourselves on our work-life balance, allowing Annertechies to set their own working hours around what works for them and their personal lives. We also have the right to switch off while not working, and this is written into our HR policy.
We like to think that our family-first ethos extends to our work relationships, and Annertech is a close-knit group of really special people who genuinely enjoy each other’s company and support each other.

The open source ecosystem
Deep Drupal contribution
We are highly active Drupal contributors, with thousands of code commits and multiple Drupal Core maintainers and volunteers on our staff. Everyone in the team receives dedicated, paid time to contribute back to the Drupal project.
Signature support
As a Platinum Drupal Certified Partner, we financially support the infrastructure and tooling necessary for the entire Drupal ecosystem to thrive.

LocalGov Drupal
In addition, we are deeply involved in LocalGov Drupal (LGD), which promotes the “Build to Share” philosophy for local government. We contribute significantly to the platform's evolution, helping councils deploy high-quality, citizen-centred services efficiently.
Environmental responsibility
Zero commute
By operating without offices, we eliminate the need for daily commuting for our team, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and promoting a better work/life balance.
Digital-only operations
We have removed the need for paper, reducing waste, and only travel for meetings when critical value is added.
Recycling
We are committed to a circular approach for our hardware and equipment. We prioritise the reuse and responsible recycling of all technical components, ensuring our physical footprint remains as lean as our digital one.
Green partnerships
We partner with hosting and infrastructure providers, such as Upsun and Google Cloud Platform, who have clear commitments to reducing carbon emissions and achieving net zero goals. We actively ensure our technical delivery aligns with our customers’ environmental action plans.
Carbon reduction plan
Annertech has a low carbon footprint of 7.93 tCO2e (2024 reporting figure). We are committed to reducing that, and project that carbon emissions will decrease to 0 tCO2e by 2030.

Engineering for efficiency
By ensuring services meet key user journeys and frequently visited components benefit from advanced caching, we actively minimise data storage and processing power required, thereby reducing the carbon impact of our client’s websites. We are doing the same with annertech.com: The redesigned website scores a B rating (up from a D rating), and we are in the process of moving it to a greener data centre to improve the rating to A.
Giving back and ethics
Charity support
We support a wide range of charities both in Ireland and internationally, including The Red Cross; Immigrant Council of Ireland; Irish Heart Foundation; Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind; St Vincent de Paul to name but a few.

Scholarships
We are proud to support people who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend Drupal events. For example, Annertech has sponsored a pair of funded scholarships for the 2026 DrupalCamp England. One of the organisers’ goals with DrupalCamp England is to get more people involved with Drupal and to create opportunities for people.
“We know first-hand that local Drupal communities benefit greatly from Drupal events, and this renewed event is a welcome addition to our calendar. We’re really excited about seeing new people getting involved in Drupal. Sponsoring scholarships means that we can support a couple of people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to come because of the expenses of travel and accommodation,” said Stella.

Pro-bono work
We offer significant discounts and often provide pro-bono digital services to charities, helping them maximise their impact.
Empowerment
We provide online educational talks and webinars to young people, focusing on careers in web development, technology, and business, particularly aiming to support women in tech. We’re conscious that the tech industry is still quite skewed in terms of female representation, and actively aim to recruit women wherever possible. Led by our female founder, we have significantly increased our gender diversity from 18% in 2023 to 33% in 2025.
Anti-slavery commitment
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We actively work to ensure our supply chain is ethical, including an anti-human trafficking clause in 78% of our supplier contracts.
Join us in giving back
Our social values are central to who we are. If you are looking for a digital partner who is as committed to community and ethics as they are to technical excellence, we would love to hear from you.
